GQ Car Award for the Bugatti Chiron

GQ Car Award for the Bugatti Chiron

Molsheim / London

British men’s lifestyle magazine “Gentlemen‘s Quarterly” has honoured Bugatti’s ultimate super sports car, the Chiron1, with the GQ Car Award 2018. The jury explained his decision as follows: “In an automotive world in which brash new contenders make increasingly crazy claims, only Bugatti truly delivers.

The Chiron isn’t just a fantastically fast car, it’s also a supremely elegant and highly advanced piece of engineering. Bugatti’s heritage in the world of high-end cars is unmatched: the Chiron is a truly worthy successor to some of the greatest automobiles ever made, as stylish and well-tailored as a Savile Row suit.”

Bugatti president Stephan Winkelmann received the award on Monday evening from the hands of Juan Pablo Montoya. The winner of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, two-times winner in the Indy 500 series and three-times winner of the Daytona 24-hour race had travelled to London for the presentation. In his congratulatory speech, Juan Pablo Montoya remembered the special impressions he had gained during his 0-400-0 km/h drive with the Chiron last year: “For me, the Chiron is the most incredible super sports car on the road. It is a surprise for everyone who drives it the first time. And you just don’t want to get out.”

Stephan Winkelmann, who took up his position with the French luxury brand at the beginning of the year, thanked the GQ jury: “The GQ Car Award honours the entire Bugatti team. I am proud to lead this unique brand and its people, who are so talented and passionate. The jury’s verdict is spot on.”

The GQ Car Awards have been presented annually since 2010. This year, a total of 12 cars were honoured.
